Big Changes
The March, 2016 SAT marked another significant overhaul in the SAT world. Coming on the heels of being outsold by its competitor, the ACT, this once king of admissions testing decided to make amendments. At first glance, most appear acceptable - the removal of penalty, simpler (less sections, more time per question), etc. But how are colleges going to view these new scores? What is happening to one of the biggest barriers to entering college? The picture is becoming more clear as cohorts of students begin using the "new" SAT.
More recently, the SAT has dropped the Essay portion of the exam, as well as the SAT Subject Tests. In Spring, 2023, international testing began being digital administered as well.
