Studying in the Glorious Down Under
Studying in Australia has lots of possibilities, though the process can seem confusing to those used to applying to individual colleges in the USA. For many, the VATC will be a place they will look. "The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) is the central office that administers the application processes for places in tertiary courses, scholarships and the Special Entry Access Scheme at universities, TAFEs and independent tertiary colleges in Victoria (and a few outside Victoria). VTAC receives and forwards application information and supporting documentation to the relevant authorities at institutions." VATC, like the Common App, is not a selection committee. For Australian citizens and international students alike, more resources are below. One thing to consider about Australian universities is that the school calendar tends to run February to December, rather than the August/September-May/June calendar typical of Northern Hemisphere schools, but some schools have a mid-year entry as well that can work to your advantage.
